Introduction

Imagine a summer’s day on the beach without any of your favorite snacks, how horrible. There is no better time than summer to make and share delicious treats with friends and family. Fruit is at its ripest point during the months of July through September, and it is also healthy which makes for great summertime meal ingredients.

The summertime food theme is significant to us because summer is our favorite season. Also, we wanted to pick a topic that everybody can embrace and relate to, as opposed to certain culture's foods, a holiday, or a single food that could be to someone's disliking. What’s a beautiful summer’s day without snacks specifically specialized for summer? We are here to show you our three favorite summer snacks, for a day at the beach or at a backyard barbeque.image: A sunset in Florida.

We are making this website for the MCWT, or Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation yearly website competition. This competition exists to raise awareness for women in the field of technology, because the majority is men. Since 1990, the population of women in this career field has plummeted. The theme for the contest this year is “Food! Glorious Food!” This is why we’re creating this website.

Over the course of the website, my partner and I will highlight fun summer foods to make and eat! Specifically, we will explain how to make a 4th of July layered drink, pretzel jello, and homemade macaroni.
