I paint flowers so they will not die."-Frida Kahlo

The theme of this year’s MCWT Web Image:Speech bubble asking what's your superpower? Design Competition is Power: How I use my strengths for good! To this question, I answer with a simple two-letter phrase, daisy chains. You’ve probably made one before, stringing delicate flowers by their stems to create a delightful crown of fuzzy white daisies. How do dainty daisies relate to using strengths for good? When I think about daisy chains, I think of stringing together the individual stories of girls and women to empower us, be it through art, poetry, dance, or literature. When we share our stories, we feel proud of ourselves, we love ourselves and our cultures, our bindis, head wraps, hijabs, our outspoken natures, and our very identities. By bridging our experiences and relating to one other, us girls find our well-deserved self-love. In this website, you will read about how I learned to love myself and learn my superpower of self-love through connecting with my and other’s amazing art. I hope you will look through my webpage with an open mind and heart!

I am ecstatic to share my web design skills and my superpower with the Michigan Council of Women in Technology. The MCWT Web Design Competition is the largest website design competition for middle and high-school aged girls in Michigan! To qualify for the contest, I was required to build a five-page website surrounding around the theme of Power: How I use my strengths for good!. It gives the great opportunity of letting girls delve into the world of coding and giving them the chance to show off their skills.
