The amount of power people have to influence change, for themselves and others, is restricted only in their minds. The greatest untapped resource of our time lies within individuals realizing their full, unbridled potential. Of course, when two or more people unleash their energy toward a common goal, the possibilities are exponentially increased. If only a fraction of our population comprehends and acts upon their available potential, the benefits to humankind and future generations cannot be understated.

The need for people to awaken to their full potential and use it to help others is now. The recent toll of natural and manmade disasters demand it. We are inundated daily with news of death and devastation brought on by earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, fires, famine and pollution. These events have left thousands dead, tens of thousands homeless and a planet that is seemingly less healthy with each passing generation. The urgent needs of others, and that of Earth, should serve as a wakeup call for us to focus our power to help and to heal.

The Michigan Council of Women in Technology has challenged us to compete in a website design that will demonstrate our power to harness technology. However, given recent events, we are using technology as a platform to raising awareness of specific disasters, help individuals affected by them and to clean-up the local environment. More specifically, we will aim to help individuals affected by Hurricane Irma, the fires in California and to remedy some level of pollution in Lake Saint Clair. It is our hope that others are inspired by these efforts and build upon them to help others in the future.
