About Me

→ My name's Nikitha Chittela, but I go by Niki. I love to code because the possibilities of what I could learn to do are endless. I am a senior at Salem High School, and I hope to get a major in Computer Science.

→ This is my first time participating in the MCWT Web Design Competition, and I am really excited to be able to turn in a website this year!

→All pictures were taken by either me, my family, or my friends.

Computer Classes:

Intro to Computer Programming: A half semester course where we learned the basics of coding in C++.

Web Design and Internet: An introductory course to coding in HTML and CSS to make your own websites.

AP Computer Science/Java: An advanced placement course that teaches programming through Java.

Sources for Some Code:

Navigation Bar: I used the basic layout for the horizontal navigation bar provided by W3Schools, but modified it by changing the padding, margin, color, font-family, font-size, background-color, and adding a border-radius to give a curved shape to the buttons on hover.

→ Overall W3Schools was the website I went to when I needed to learn to do something like opening a link in a new tab or adding a link to an image.

Other Software Used:

Pixlr Photo Editor: I used this to create the banner on the homepage that contains the ocean image (which I photographed) and title of “Living Tech-Free”. I also used this editor to create the website logo of a phone that has a circle around and a slash through it.

Favicon.cc: I used this to create the favicon of the phone with a red slash through it that goes next to the title at the top of the web browser.
