Transportation allows people to travel and goods to be delivered from one city, country or continent to another. In 2020 we have electric cars, trucks, car carrier trucks, and taxi services like Uber, Lyft (which work with phone apps). However, let's take a minute to think about what people did in the 1950's. The question is did they even have cars or buses back then? The answer is yes, but only a few people had cars because of the VERY high prices. People would mostly go on bicycles or, in India, by foot.
Now lets talk about buses-it would cost very little money to go on a bus compared to driving a car. Buses back then were similar to school buses today, but in recent days people have created
luxury buses equipped with dashboards with rear view cameras, screens on every seat for people's entertainment, and dark windows to prevent sunlight from getting inside.
A major change in transport between now and then is that in the 1950s, people used to ride in carriages pulled by horses. If you have ever been to Makinac Island you can experience carriage rides there!
In the 1950s space travel was not invented, but NASA was formed in 1958. According to Wikipedia, the first man to land on the moon was on July 20, 1969.
In 2020 three missions to Mars have been attempted, including two rovers, two orbiters, and a lander.
