THEN

Kids always wore uniforms to school and most schools had no forms of transportation, such as buses. Many kids had to walk miles to go to school. Also, very few girls were educated. Girls were married very young and were taught how to take care of the household. In America, World War II had just ended and had shown problems within the education system. They became more organized, got more funding, and more kids went to school.

NOW

Nowadays, most public schools let kids wear whatever they want, with few restrictions. There are now many different transportation modes that you could take to get to school, such as buses. Chalkboards used back then have now been replaced by whiteboard and SMART Boards. Many people, of any gender, ethnicity, or religion go to school so they can have a proper education and succeed.
