Daily life in the 1940s and daily life now are very different as there have been many changes and improvements in the way we live. Grandparents 1940-50s

  • Now, many people have cars, which is why the number of cars is much higher today than it was in the 1940s.
  • In our times, there are many different kinds of phones, like Samsung Galaxy and Apple iPhones. Our phones now do so much more than they did before, they still call people , but they can also FaceTime, and text & email too. Our phone provide entertainment, with games, videos, and other apps, and the biggest thing, our phones have is the internet, which gives us what we need almost instantly.
  • Today, though some people still use PVC pipes, but there are also other pipes that are used, like a PEX pipe, ABS pipe, copper pipe, and a galvanized pipe. Also today, almost every house has plumbing.
  • Unlike the 1940s, almost every kid goes to school, and there are many changes in the way school is run, too. Chalkboards have been replaced by whiteboards. Notebooks and textbooks have been replaced by laptops and iPads. A lot more kids are educated today than in the 1940s. School days are 6-7 hours long.
