The genre of most movies in the 1940s was film noir. This genre reflected the way Hollywood felt while it was facing the war’s great challenges, and post-war challenges - dark and cynical. Movies in the 1940s were sad because they were experiencing, or had just finished experiencing a very sad time.

Movie makers of today are mainly interested in making money, so they make many different genres of movies. This way, everyone has movies that they like, and the people making the movies can rake in the cash.

Today, people still enjoy country music that was enjoyed back then, but pop music, and hip-hop are also liked. Country music is one of the only genres of music that was popular back then, and are still enjoyed today.
