The audience can see Korra grow to become an Avatar who is outspoken about her decisions as well as a fighter who does not give up no matter the challenge. These characteristics are not always connected to how society believes a female should act, and as a young girl, Avatar Korra was one of the only female fictional characters that proudly showcased these traits. Though she was strong, she also was vulnerable and this can be seen when she is dealing with her depression as well as her PTSD. Seeing her deal with these mental troubles as a teen and still find a way to fight her battles inspires me to this day as I go through my own troubles

Korra being a person of color and a part of the LGBTQ+ community were two things that were not emphasized within the show but were just there. The lack of emphasis on these things makes them seem more normal since they are not talked about in a way where she would be singled out within the show. Seeing a strong person of color who is also a part of the LGBTQ+ community allows for many to look up to Korra and see that even with these things that might not seem the “norm” in society, she can still accomplish whatever she sets her mind to.
