Meet Us!

We call each other Comedienne Gal Pals. We
don't need to do anything to have fun. We
went to Apple to use iMovie to create our
video. This experience has been amazing!
And yes, we are wearing the same dresses in
the bottom right picture. There's a really
good reason for it: real friends don't just go
dress shopping together for their school dance, they get the same dress (just in
different colors), and then they take pictures together. We don't care what others
think. We're weird and that's what makes us friends.

Meet Caitlin!

Dear Diary,
My name is Caitlin Beirne. I am a junior at Lake Shore High School and will be a part of the class of 2016.
My dream career is to be a web designer. I do my best to achieve good grades and I do not give up on my
goals. Technology allows me to be able to create the websites that I love to create. Without technology, I
wouldn't be able to do what I love to do.
Throughout the process of designing websites, I've learned so much. I have learned how to create special
effects that websites most often never use. I have also learned to create animations to add more
creativity to my websites. Creating a website isn't easy. You go through so many draft ideas and none of
them ever make the cut. This website had at least 20 other ideas that we never used. The process of
creating a website is all about your imagination.
A quote that inspires me dearly is “No one is perfect… that’s why pencils have erasers.” –Author
Unknown. I found this quote while I was on Google a few years ago. I love this quote because every week I
hear someone say, “I’m perfect” or “I don’t need change,” which is a lie. Everyone has room for
improvement and no one will ever be perfect. I live by this quote because I know I can never be perfect but
that doesn’t mean I can’t try. I’ve tried pencils without erasers and I’ve made more mistakes than usual.
Whoever said this quote, is a genius and proves that no one is perfect; we all make mistakes.
                                                                                                                 Love,

Caitlin Beirne

Meet Jessica!

Dear Diary,
Hey, my name is Jessica Old, and I am one of your writers! I am currently a senior at Lake Shore High
School, and this year is going by pretty fast. I just got accepted to my dream college, Aquinas University,
and I plan to attend their Pre-Medicine program in the fall of 2015. I took this class not only to learn how
to make a website, but also because it helps to learn the one thing that is taking over our world!
I want to specialize in Emergency Medicine, so I’m not quite sure how technology will be a main part of
that field. However, since hospitals are becoming real dependent on computers, learning how they work
in this class will definitely benefit me in the future. Being educated on computer coding has me
considering it as an alternative, but I can’t give up on my dream of being a doctor. Creating this website
has taught me more than just coding, it taught me teamwork, creativity, and it strengthened my
friendship with the coolest person ever!
A quote that I best live my life by is, “Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game”
-A Cinderella Story. The first time I saw this quote was in a movie called A Cinderella Story. Ever since
then I have never let that quote escape my mind. The reason why I live by this quote is because I have a
“phobia” of failing. I realize that nobody wants to fail, but I take it to a whole new level. When I think back
to this quote though, I not only think about baseball, but I think about life. I’m afraid that if I audition for
the school choir I won't make it. I don’t let it bother me nevertheless, and that’s because of this quote. I
have accomplished so many things after learning of this quote, and I hope to accomplish so much more
later on.
                                                                                                                 Love,

Jessica Old
