This summer, I was accepted to and attended the Secondary Student Training Program, or SSTP, a research program at the University of Iowa. I worked at UIOWA's Hospitals and Clinics in the OBGYN Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility department under Dr. Ginny Ryan. I learned how to conduct research, observed surgeries, and attended scientific seminars. My paper on the "Impact of endometrial thicknesses in women participating in IVF cycles on birth outcomes" identified a relationship between endometrial thickness and the possibility of a C-section delivery and opened up new questions for research in that area for the future. This summer, I realized how scientific research can improve lives and change the world. This summer, I truly recognized the power of research.

I joined my school's 400-student HOSA club in 2015 when I was a freshman in high school. My first year, I formed a team with three other freshman to compete in Biomedical Debate on the topic of genetically modified foods. That year, we won 2nd Place at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennesse. The next year, I went on to become the only sophomore officer on the Novi HOSA board. As Secretary of the largest HOSA Chapter in Michigan, I facilitated officer meetings, organized the Team Drive, and stayed connected with members on social media. I am currently the PR Chair for Novi HOSA, and am working to make our HOSA season even better than the last.

Novi Chemistry Society

AP Chemistry Group Picture After excelling in AP Chemistry freshman year, my teacher invited me to join Novi Chemistry Society, a group of qualified students who tutor future AP Chemistry and Chemistry students. Ever since then, I have been tutoring at official tutoring sessions after school and outside of school as well. I enjoy being able to help students achieve the same success that I did in both the class and the AP exam. Using my knowledge, I am able to empower other students.

DECA: International Business Association

Presentation on DECA at Michigan Education Summit 2017 with Governor Snyder I joined DECA, a competitive business club, in my freshman year of high school. I placed Top 20 at the International Leadership Conference that same year in the event Principles of Marketing. The next year, I was invited to speak about DECA at the Governor's Education Summit. I spoke to educators, business employees, and Governor Snyder himself at the event. I believe I helped generate interest and spread the ideas of DECA to other Michigan school districts.
