By creating a fundraiser that collects toiletries for the homeless, we learned more than we expected to in the process. Seeing all of our friends and family come together and help us out makes us feel truly empowered. We know that the church will appreciate all of our donations and that they will make the homeless feel much more confident and powerful about themselves as humans altogether. Creating fundraisers such as these are definitely something that we will continue to do in the future, because it is important to bring the community together so that we are empowered together!

After our fundraiser ended and all of the boxes from our school district were collected, we were shocked and amazed at the results. Four of our boxes were full to the top with toiletries for the homeless and two of the boxes were overflowing. Having the pastor of our church put a blessing on all of the donations was an inspiring and humbling experience that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Being able to give back to so many people who are not as fortunate as we are is something often looked upon, however by deciding to take part in an activity like this truly can open a person’s eyes, no matter who they are.
