Lifestyles Without Digital Technology

So, clearly we use digital technology a lot in our daily lives. But what would it actually be like to experience a week without digital technology? Here's an overview of our daily schedules.

Work and School

Let's start with the weekdays. Whether you go to school or you go to work, you will probably use some form of digital technology. But what about when we don't have it? Let's begin with school. A lot of teachers use projectors or chromebooks in their classrooms. Without it, it would definitely be difficult to teach. Students wouldn't be able to work on digital projects or classwork, and the teacher wouldn't be able to properly instruct the class without the projector. Moving on, work life would also be tiring. The impact of digital technology on your work depends on your job. If your job is extremely dependent on digital technology, then you wouldn't even be able to do your job. But if your job barely uses digital technology, then you will most likely have a normal week concerning work.

Entertainment

A lot of people use technology for entertainment purposes. Jessica Booth, a woman who decided to take on this challenge, created a website describing her daily schedule. From her descriptions, it is pretty clear that it was a hard task to accomplish. It can be even harder on the weekends. No school to distract you, and the urgent need to check social media bites at your shoulders. But, people can find other ways to entertain themselves. Activites include reading, going outside, or playing board games. These activites can take your mind off of your cell phone and put it in to the present.
