Though effective, this method can quickly rack up large costs, whereas there are alternatively plenty of free apps. Cell phone reminders can also be more effective because many people carry them all the time, while a physical calendar may be left behind or misplaced.
    Overall, cell phone users now have plenty of often-free opportunities to improve their health that would not exist without apps.
