Jada Baldwin

My name is Jada Baldwin. I am a junior at Lake Shore High School while taking college classes as part of the Early College of Macomb Program. In school, I push myself to do my very best and always get good grades. Right now I have a GPA of 3.9 and I have worked really hard to achieve that. My favorite subjects in school are anything related to math and English.

Outside of school, I try my best to spend lots of time with my friends and family because I am very grateful to have the people I do in my life. Some of my favorite hobbies are photography, reading, and listening to music. When I'm older I hope to become either a teacher or psychologist.

Hannah Watkins

My name is Hannah Watkins. I am also a junior at Lake Shore High School while taking college classes as part of the Early College of Macomb Program. Academics are very important to me, I do my best to keep my grades the best I know they can be.

Outside of school I enjoy having fun with my friends. A favorite hobby of mine is photography and I would like to continue that as I go through college. Although I am unsure what career path I will take in the future, I would love to go into information technology.

In this class we learned the basic rules and etiquettes of applying for a job and finding a career path. We made resumes and had fake job interviews in class to prepare for the real thing. We also made a portfolio on weebly that showcased our skills and abilites.

In this class we learned how to code a wesbite and render photos with Photoshop. We were given a theme and then had to decide what our websites would be about. This class takes a lot of pateince and time management but it's definitely worth it.

This class was similar to the above description of "Intro to Web Design," but more innovative and independent. In this class we also used Photoshop CC to animate our logo and were required to make a video.

Conclusion

We are very glad we got the opportunity to take web design again. This year we learned CSS which allowed us to style our wesbite in an easier and more convenient way. We also learned how difficult it is to get cats to sit still while trying to put a costume on them or take a picture of them.

While building a website there are many ups and downs. For example, being in the advanced category meant we had to do a lot of problem solving by ourselves. Problem solving was frustrating sometimes, but also nice because we learned from it.

During the course of the class we got to visit professional web designers at Seek Momentum. It was very helpful getting to ask professionals about the process of building a website. It was also nice to get help when something went wrong with our website and we couldn't figure it out ourselves.
